Council approves creation of new wastewater position

February 8, 2012

Members of City Council unanimously approved the creation of a new management position at the city's wastewater treatment plant.
According to City Manager Dave Greene, the city created the position of assistant plant supervisor, a position which has remained unfilled since 2002.
"What we'd like to do is create a position of plant maintenance supervisor. This would eliminate the job title of assistant plant supervisor. This individual would be in charge of all plant maintenance. We think we have an individual in mind to take this position," Greene said. "What normally happens is we try to promote from within so it would be promoting a union member into this position.
Greene added that he has discussed this option with Lad Kornacki, who is in charge of overall operation of the plant.
Council also unanimously approved a second motion setting the salary for the position at $51,500.
