St. Marys plans to apply for Act 13 money to purchase numerous automated external defibrillator (AED) units for use in city facilities.
The total grant request is for $11,165 which includes $8,165 for six AED units along with cabinets/wall mounts and supplies consisting of additional defibrillator pads for adults and children.
The units would be installed at each city-owned building including City Hall, the street department garage, water treatment plant, one for the Recreation Department and two at the police department.
The city parks already have the units which are stored at City Hall during the winter months.
The funding is allocated by the Elk County Planning Department.
