Crews encounter numerous challenges on 255 project

Photo by Vanessa Eozzo Heavy equipment is a frequent sight along Route 255 in St. Marys as the $12.8 million overhaul of the highway continues into its second phase.

Due to several challenges being encountered by crews working on the state Route 255 project, the anticipated completion date of early September could be pushed back slightly later into the fall.
Among the road blocks being encountered are weather, hitting rock while installing utility lines and discovering numerous drains from homeowners which were unknown prior to construction.
