Crusader golfers pick up wins over SMA, Brockway

The Elk County Catholic HIgh School golf squad picked up a pair of victories over St. Marys Area and Brockway during a windy, rainy and cold match played Wednesday afternoon at the St. Marys Golf Club.
ECC had a team score of 214 while St. Marys had 246 and Brockway had 246.
The medalist for the day was ECC's Brandon Schlimm with a five-over-par round of 40.
The low scorer for St. Marys Area was Rudy Gleixner with a 46. Brockway's Alec Bouch shot a 45.
Also for the Crusaders, Elliott Stuble had a 41, Jess Jaynes and Bryan Haberberger had 44s, Kristy Hanes and Drew Meyer had 45s, and Mitchell Struble and Bruno Cavalline had 52s.
Also for the Dutchmen, Justin Beimel and Sam Miller had 48s, Quinn Cunningham had a 51, Dillon Gallagher had a 52, Owen Schreiber had a 53 and Robert Watts had a 54.
Wednesday was also senior night for the Crusaders and players and their parents were honored prior to the match.
The ECC squad will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Punxsutawney for the Allegheny Mountain Golf League Championship.
