The Elk County Catholic Crusader football team recorded a 28-6 homecoming victory over the Ridgway Elkers on Friday evening at Dutch Country Stadium in St. Marys.
The rain held off until just after the midpoint of the third quarter, allowing for dry weather for the Crusaders' homecoming festivities at halftime. Despite the change in the weather, both teams did a good job holding onto the ball and the rain seemed to have little impact on the game.
ECC coach Travis Skrzypek remarked that he was pleased with his squad's play throughout the game.
"I thought both the offensive and defensive lines played really well. The whole team performed well tonight," Skrzypek said.
