Curfew extended for baseball tournament

June 4, 2012

Councilman Bob Roberts

City Council approved a request by the American Legion Region 8 Committee to relax the city's curfew from July 21-25 for a baseball tournament taking place at Berwind Park.
Councilman Bob Roberts said although council has approved this request several times in the past, he believes organizers stipulated an anticipated ending time.
"I understand the reason for it, but as this stands would it be for a half hour from the end of the game, until the next day, until midnight? What are they asking for?" Roberts questioned.
The city's current curfew is set for 11 p.m. With the exemption, the new curfew for the tournament is for 30 minutes after the end of the last game.
