The Daily Press recently concluded its Kids' Calendar contest. Twelve youngsters were chosen by votes from the community to each represent a month in the calendar. Area residents sent in $1 to vote for the child of their choice, with a portion of the proceeds going to Project Gifts for Elk County.
Christian Vollmer received the most votes and will be featured on the cover as well as representing a month. Christian and his family stopped by the office Friday, where they helped Daily Press staff members present a check to Gifts for Elk County President Bob Roberts. Pictured in front is Blake Vollmer. Pictured in back from left to right are Daily Press Sales Representative Kara Dornish; Daily Press Circulation Manager Lisa Challingsworth; Bob Roberts; and Christian Vollmer and his parents, Anissa and Craig Vollmer.
Because of the community's generosity, $925 was donated to Project Gifts for Elk County.
