Dairy Queen pet contest to benefit Humane Society

Area residents are encouraged to take photos of their dogs enjoying Dairy Queen treats and submit them to the business by Sept. 7 to take part in a fundraiser that will benefit the Elk County Humane Society.

The dog days of summer may be over but that has not stopped a number of area residents from taking their canine friends to Dairy Queen for an ice cream treat. Because of the frequency that dogs are brought to the establishment, Dairy Queen owner Theresa Hodgdon came up with a contest that is not only fun for the dogs and their owners, but will also benefit the Elk County Humane Society as well.
