Dale L. Wolfanger

Dale L. Wolfanger, 73, of 475 Hunts Run Rd., Emporium, died at DuBois Regional Medical Center in DuBois on Monday, Feb. 6, 2012 following a lengthy illness.
He was born Feb. 1, 1939 in Austin, a son of the late LaVerne and Elva Fowler Wolfanger.
He married Carolyn Kamats Wolfanger, who survives. They recently celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary.
Years ago Mr. Wolfanger served with the U.S. Army.
In addition to his wife, Carolyn Kamats Wolfanger, he is survived by three sons, Derek Wolfanger and his wife Anita of St. Marys, David Wolfanger and his wife Donna of Lakeland, Tenn., and Douglas Wolfanger and his wife Stephanie of Jersey Shore; seven grandchildren, Anneliese, Alexandra and Andrew of St. Marys, Meghan, Madison and Brooke of Lakeland, Tenn., and Wyatt of Jersey Shore; two brothers, LaVerne Wolfanger and his wife Cathy of Chatham, N.J., and James Wolfanger and his wife Pamela of Marion, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews, including Paige Wolfanger of Palatine, Ill. and Gretchen (Brian) Wise of Las Vegas, Nev.
He was preceded in death by his parents, LaVerne and Elva Fowler Wolfanger.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Dale L. Wolfanger will be celebrated at the St. Mark Catholic Church, 235 East Fourth St., Emporium, on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012 at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Paul S. Siebert, pastor, as celebrant. A military service will be accorded by the Cameron County Memorial Detail. Burial will be in the St. Mark Catholic Cemetery, Emporium.
Visitation will be at the Barnett Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark Catholic Church, Building Fund, 235 E. 4th St., Emporium, PA 15834; or to the Food Pantry, P.O. Box 389, Emporium, PA (Attn: David Malizia) or to the charity of the donor's choice.
