April School of Dance's competition company, DDCC, will proudly travel to their first ever national competition this coming weekend. DDCC's 18 company members along with their teacher and choreographer, Jennifer Blankenship, had an outstanding season with every one of their 18 pieces qualifying for nationals at all four competitions. Two DDCC soloists will be traveling to Atlantic City, N.J. to compete for a national title at Encore DCS. Kaitlin Quinn of St. Marys, who was the regional overall highest scoring competitive soloist, will be competing her contemporary piece, "Tore My Heart." Nicole Holland of Toby, was the regional highest scoring Super Soloist; "Super" meaning she was the highest scoring soloist who danced two solos. She will be competing with her contemporary solo, "Breathe Me," and her jazz solo "Poker Face." The weekend will keep the girls busy as they not only compete, but also rehearse and perform an opening ceremonies dance with dancers from all across the nation as well as take technique classes. Follow DDCC on Facebook to stay updated. Good luck Kaitie and Nicci.
