Danial J. Ruffner

Danial J. Ruffner, 33, of Scribner Avenue, DuBois, and formerly of Kersey, died at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013 following complications of a long battle with Leukemia.
He was born Jan. 2, 1980 in Lewistown, a son of Donald and Cheryl (Heiberger) Ruffner of Kersey and Casey and Deborah (Werneth) Bowers of DuBois.
Dan was Catholic by faith, attended St. Marys schools and was employed in the gas and oil industry. He was an avid gun hobbiest and enthusiast and was a member of the NRA. He loved working on and restoring older vehicles and attending car shows. He also greatly enjoyed mixed martial arts (UFC) and wrestling (WWE). Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by four brothers, Timothy (Christi) Ruffner of Kersey, Christopher (Leanne) Ruffner of Kersey, Trevor Skrzypek of State College, and Trenton Bowers of DuBois; two nieces and two nephews whom he adored, Brianne and Marissa Ruffner, Jacob and Anthony Ruffner; grandparents Edwin and Bona Heiberger of St. Marys; and a grandmother, Winona Ruffner of Lewistown.
He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Gloria Klancer Werneth and an uncle, Ronald Ruffner.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Danial J. Ruffner will be celebrated at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Church Street, St. Marys, on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013  at 10 a.m. with Rev. Thomas More Sikora, O.S.B., as Celebrant. 
Burial will be in the St. Boniface Cemetery in Kersey.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., St. Marys on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
