David Charles Fantaskey

David Charles Fantaskey, 61, formerly of the Commons in Ridgway, died Sunday morning, June 12, 2011, at Pinecrest Manor following a lengthy illness.
He was born Jan. 19, 1950 in Renovo, son of the late Harold C. and Gladys L. (Jordan) Fantaskey.
He had resided in Ridgway for most of his life and was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church. He was a 1969 graduate of the Ridgway High School. He was a huge John Wayne fan and enjoyed watching the Jets and the Yankees. He had been employed at ELCAM for five years.
He is survived by a sister, Kathryn L. Miraglia of Ridgway; two nieces, Lara Mitchell of Ridgway and Miranda Miraglia of Ridgway; three nephews, Rob Samick of Middletown, Del., Tim Samick of Ridgway, and Mike Miraglia of Ridgway; several great-nieces and nephews; and a brother-in-law, Robert Samick of Ridgway.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Samick, and a great-niece, Lily Mitchell.
A Memorial Mass for David C. Fantaskey will be celebrated at St. Leo Catholic Church on Saturday, June 25 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Fr. Brian E. Vossler, pastor of St. Leo Catholic Church.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Renovo.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials, if desired, can be made to the donor's choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home.
