David L. Heigel

David L. Heigel, 79, of 235 Glasshurst Road, Brockport, died Saturday, June 22, 2013 at his residence.
He was born June 25, 1933, in Kersey, son of the late John and Dagney Hedberg Heigel.
He was a lifelong resident of the area, having lived in Bennetts Valley until 2003.
He was a graduate of Weedville High School, Class of 1951, and was a retired employee of Airco Speer, retiring in 1994 after 30 years of service.
On September 24, 1971 in the First Lutheran Church in Ridgway, he married Jeanne F. Frey, and she preceded him in death on November 6, 2005.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
He is survived by a daughter, Sandra 'Sandi' Rodrigue of Boston, Mass.; a son, Carl D. Heigel and his wife Genia of Brookville; three grandchildren, Matthew Rodrigue, Jarred Heigel, and Valerie Heigel Hayes; three great-grandchildren, Walter Heigel, Olivia Heigel, and Joanna Hayes; a sister, Mary Ellen Crocco of Richmond, Va.; and his companion, Marie Reed of Brockport.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Heigel.
Funeral services for David L. Heigel will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Friday, June 28 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David Naggle officiating.
Burial will follow in the Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Ridgway.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home from 9-11 a.m. on Friday morning.
