David A. Sharp

David A. Sharp, 88, of Clearfield, died on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at his home, which he made with his sister Catherine Coder of Clearfield.
He was born on Sept. 3, 1923, in Brush Run, Clarion County, son of the late Harry W. and Alverta Macinch Sharp.
He was employed as a coal miner, and was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Clearfield. He was also a member of the Clearfield Veterans of Foreign Wars F. Michael Sicks Post #1785.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
He is survived by four children, Thelma Chutz (Robert) of Slippery Rock, Pearl Hanes (Thomas) of St. Marys, Gary Sharp (Pam) of North East, and David Sharp (Laura) of Kersey; six grandchildren; and a sister, Catherine Coder.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Martha Grace, Jesse Smith, and Mable McFarland; two brothers, Alvin Sharp and John Sharp; a step-sister, Florence Saylor; and three step-brothers, Harry, James, and Frank.
Funeral services for David A. Sharp will be held at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Clearfield on Friday, April 13 at 1 p.m., with Dr. Duane A. White officiating.
Interment will follow in the Centre Cemetery in Hyde.
Visitation will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home on Thursday, April 12 from 5 to 8 p.m., and on Friday from 12 p.m. until the time of service at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.
