DDCC presents showcase

April School of Dance presented the Dynamic Dance Competition Company (DDCC) Showcase on Sunday afternoon at ECCHS. The company, overseen by artistic director Jennifer Blankenship of Kane, performed a total of 15 pieces, including six solos. DDCC consists of 18 dancers ranging in age from 9-18 years old who are divided into three different companies. The group recently concluded their competition season. A slideshow documenting the company's competition season was shown at the conclusion of the event, after which Blankenship recognized each member of the company, as well as the groups' production staff, stage managers and parents.
Shown above is Company A dancers Claire Grazioli, Sophie Herzing, Maddie O'Leary, Kristen Dippold, Bry Harvey, Madison Yankovich and Abbie Lampman are joined by Company B dancers Kaitlin Quinn, Kaitlin Yankovich, Jensine Coudriet, Elle McGowan, Nicole Holland and Rachel Keller as they perform "Spaceship," a fast-paced tap-dance piece which won an array of awards such as platinum, first place, best of category, costume award, entertainment award and the highest-scoring large group.
