Della Christine Swesey

Della Christine Swesey, 91, of Elk Haven Nursing Home, St. Marys, formerly of Emporium, died at Elk Haven Nursing Home on Saturday, May 31, 2014 afternoon following a lengthy illness.
She was born June 5, 1922 in Shawmut, a daughter of the late Oden and Della Lindenmuth Clouser.
On Dec. 10, 1945, in Winchester, Va., she married the late Vere "Jim" Swesey.
Mrs. Swesey graduated from DuBois High School. She retired from Sylvania where she worked for over 25 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and had also been a member of the Garden Club. She enjoyed gardening and was a loving mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are two daughters, Priscilla Heitzenrater of Emporium and Janice Pandullo of Kersey; two daughters-in-law, Ingrid Swesey Caulkin of Sun City, Ariz., and Diane Swesey Dabe of Boonville, Ind.; 11 grandchildren, Aralisha, Iliaza, Erica, Laura, Marissa, Jennifer, Jessica, Brian, Jamie, Kaitlyn and Cody; and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, James "Randy" Swesey and David Swesey; four brothers, Leigh, Leniol, Robert and Adam Clouser; and three sisters, Muriel Caldwell, Dorothy Fish and Mildred Clouser.
A Funeral Service for Della Christine Swesey will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 205 East Fourth St., Emporium, on Thursday, June 5 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Philip W. Sanders, Pastor, officiating.
Visitation with Video Tribute will be at the Barnett Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m.
Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery, Emporium.
