The St. Marys Area School District Board of Directors approved several personnel issues at this monthâ€™s regular meeting.
All employment recommendations are provisional for 30 days pending receipt of Act 151 and Act 34 clearance documentation and pre-employment drug testing if applicable.
The board approved to change the substitute pay rate effective with the 2011-12 school year. Days 1-30 will be at $80/day, days 31-60 will be at $85/day and over 60 days will be at $90/day.
The board also noted that due to the elimination of the elementary library position, the district will terminate the contract of Delores Jordan, a temporary professional employee, effective June 30.
Resignations were accepted from Beth Lenaway of Kane as a learning facilitator/ISS Supervisor effective May 6 and from Laura Scott of St. Marys as a special education tutor at South St. Marys Street Elementary School as of March 10; both are support personnel.
Also submitting their resignations were professional personnel Patricia Hamblin of Brockway as a teacher at Fox Township Elementary School, effective June 8; Marcy Holland of Kane as a teacher at South St. Marys Street Elementary, effective June 3; Susan McDonough of St. Marys as a teacher at St. Marys Area Middle School, effective June 3; Margaret Miller of Kersey as a teacher at Fox Township Elementary School, effective June 3; Karen Moyer of Kersey as a teacher at St. Marys Area High School; effective June 3; and George Neubert of St. Marys as a teacher at St. Marys Area High School, effective June 3.
In addition, six unpaid leaves of absence were approved.
