District approves personnel issues

The St. Marys Area School District Board of Directors approved several personnel issues during Monday's regular meeting.
All employment recommendations are provisional for 30 days pending receipt of Act 151 clearance documentation.
Resignations were approved for Connie Timashenka of St. Marys, as the Supervisor of Special Education, effective April 1, 2011; Kenneth Vogt of St. Marys as a tutor at St. Marys Area Middle School, effective March 11, 2011; and Dorothy Weichman of St. Marys as a classroom aide at South St. Marys Street Elementary, effective June 3, 2011.
Four unpaid leaves of absences were approved.
Regarding support personnel, Geraldine Krull of Kersey was hired as a temporary tutor at Bennetts Valley Elementary School, effective Jan. 25, 2011 at a rate of $8 per hour. Krull holds a bachelor of science degree in business.
The following professional substitute personnel were hired:
•Ashley Ames of Kersey, effective Feb. 14, 2011 in all district buildings. Ames holds a bachelor of science degree in education from Edinboro University. She is certified in English.
•Andrea Nale of Brockway, effective Feb. 14, 2011 in all district buildings. Nale holds a bachelor of science degree in education from Clarion University. She is certified in Biology.
Jacqueline Michuck of Penfield was hired Feb. 22, 2011 as a homebound teacher. She holds a bachelor of science degree in education from Penn State University. She is certified in elementary education.
Regarding support substitute personnel, Bobbi Gudac of Kersey was hired as a classroom aide and secretary, effective Feb. 14, 2011.
Supplemental contracts were awarded to:
•Anthony Azzato, head baseball coach, renewal at a rate of $2,553;
•Michelle Brooks, assistant dance team advisor/JV, renewal at a rate of $441;
•Michael Buchheit, assistant track and field coach-junior high, at a rate of $730;
•Jamie Caskey, head girls' track coach, renewal at a rate of $2,553;
•Mark Caskey, head boys' track coach, renewal at a rate of $2,205;
•Robert Cunningham, assistant baseball coach, new contract at a rate of $400;
•David Fordoski, assistant track and field coach-junior high, new contract at a rate of $1,200;
•Martin Haines, assistant boys' soccer coach, renewal at rate of $1,260;
•Rob Meyer, assistant track and field coach, new volunteer;
•Scott Meyer, assistant baseball coach, new contract at a rate of $400;
•Rachel Schreiber, assistant volleyball coach-junior high, renewal at a rate of $157;
•Rachel Schreiber, assistant track and field coach - junior high, renewal at a rate of $630;
•Erica Vogt, assistant volleyball coach-junior high, renew at a rate of $165.90; and
•Kenneth Vogt Jr., assistant volleyball coach-junior high, new volunteer.
