Donald D. Truesdale Sr.

Donald D. Truesdale Sr., 91, of Shawmut Road, Brockport, died on Friday, Nov. 18, 2011 at the Jefferson Manor in Brookville.
He was born on Aug. 2, 1920 in Brockway, the son of the late Lewis and Mary Muir Truesdale.
On May 7, 1947 in Brockway, he married Marie Moberg, who survives.
He honorably served his country during WWII as a Tail Gunner in the U.S. Air Force. He also served in the 405th Bombardment Squadron of the 38th Bombardment Group.
He was employed and retired as a Mould Maker at Brockway Glass. He was a member of the Brockway Presbyterian Church and enjoyed the outdoors. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, fly tying, hiking in the woods, camping, gardening and yardwork.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Linda Munn (Rodney) of Brockport; two sons, David Truesdale (Karen) of Bellefonte and Thomas Truesdale (Penny) of DuBois; one sister, Faye Allshouse (Gerald) of Brockway; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceeded in death by two brothers, Robert and Ervin Truesdale; and three sisters, Elaine Weisner, Leona Buskirk and Jean Kallok.
Funeral services for Donald D. Truesdale Sr. will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 11 a.m. at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway, with the Rev. Victor Baxter officiating. Burial will follow in Lakelawn Memorial Park in Reynoldsville.
Millitary honors will be accorded by Parson-Marnatti Post #95 of the American Legion Wednesday morning at the funeral home.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, Nov. 22 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Brockway Presbyterian Church or to Operation Christmas Child.
