Donald R. Williams, 71, of St. Marys, died with his family by his side at Hershey Medical Center, on Tuesday afternoon, June 24, 2014.
He was born Oct. 9, 1942 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Bob and Dorothy Williams.
On April 17, 1978 in St. Marys, he married Elizabeth "Betty" Catalone Williams, who survives.
Don graduated from Upper St. Clair High School and served with the National Guard. He worked in the construction business throughout the area for many years. He was a promoter of Slovenian style polka music and was the host of The Don Williams Polka Review for more than 30 years.
In addition to his wife Betty, he is survived by his children, David J. (Jill) Forster of Kersey, Dawn (Marc) Williams-Zabicki of Presto, Debra (Rob) D'Arrigo of McMurray, Gene P. Williams of St. Marys, and Angela R. Meyer of St. Marys; and nine grandchildren, Austin, Andrew, Drake, Lindsey, Joey, Rocco, Nicolas, Dino and Jonah. He is also survived by his sisters Mary Ellen (Ross) Osterritter of Summerville, S.C., and Kathy (Cookie) Brown, South Fayette; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Dorothy Williams; and his brother, David Williams.
A Memorial Service for Donald R. Williams will be held at the Shiloh Presbyterian Church, 217 Washington St., St. Marys on Monday, June 30 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Scott Wiest, Pastor, officiating.
There will be no visitation.
