Doris Mae Fritz

Doris Mae Fritz, 87, of 112 Poplar Road, St. Marys died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 8, 1924 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Aloysius "Allie" and Clara Fox Erich. On October 16, 1943, in the St. Mary's Church, she married Robert F. Fritz, who preceded her in death on December 27, 2004.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1942. She was a retired employee of the Stackpole Carbon Co. She was a member of the Queen of the World Church and was a volunteer at Elk Regional Health Center and the Christian Food Bank.
She is survived by a daughter, Sally Wilson (Steve) of St. Marys; two sons, Gary R. Fritz (Joanne) of St. Marys and Roger C. Fritz (Barbara) of St. Marys; seven grandchildren, Dana Fritz, Jason Fritz, Corey Fritz, Amy Howley, Julia Veasman, Nikki Werner and Eric Wilson; four great-grandchildren, Emma Fritz, Caleb Werner, Robert Fritz and Austin Werner; a sister, Betty Taylor of St. Marys and a brother, Thomas Erich (Eileen) of St. Marys.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a great granddaughter Alexa Fritz, who died in infancy; four sisters, Geraldine Bucheit, Georgia Long, Maria Squires, Virginia Lecker and two brothers, William Erich and Regis Erich.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Doris Mae Fritz will be celebrated in the Queen of the World Church on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 9 a.m. with Rev. Daniel Wolfel OSB officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Monday from 6-8 p.m.
