Douglas P. Smith

Douglas P. Smith, 53, of 3005 Rt. 219, Brockway, died Friday, May 20, 2011 at the Snyder Memorial Health Care in Marienville following a lengthy illness.
He was born June 4, 1957, in DuBois, son of the late Jesse F. Smith and Margaret K. Dorworth Smith Simbeck of St. Marys, who survives.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Ridgway schools. He was a former employee of Motion Control in Ridgway. He enjoyed fishing and raising birds.
He is survived by a son, Douglas Paul Smith Jr. of Brockway and his fiancee Niki; a sister, Judy Wendel of St. Marys; a brother, Jeffrey Smith and his wife Julie of St. Marys; a sister-in-law, Mary Kay Smith of St. Marys; two grandchildren, Dougie and Hailey; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Charles F. Simbeck; and a brother, Steven L. (Smutt) Smith in 2007.
Family and friends of Douglas P. Smith are invited to attend a memorial service to be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Eric Vogt OSB officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
