Dr. Edith Mary Robacker, 70, of The Villages, Fla., died on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013.
She was born in St. Marys and moved to The Villages in 2002 from Clarksville, Md.
She was Catholic by faith and a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church in Lady Lake, Fla.
She spent 37 years as an educator/administrator training teachers, and curriculum writing. She was in the Visual Arts Association, The Villages Art League, calligrapher and water color artist, docent at the Appleton Museum of Art and on the Advisory Committee. She was involved in the Knights of Columbus, on the pastoral council, a minister to the sick, she initiated the chalice for the priesthood vocations program, Worldwide Marriage Encounter, a member of Orlando Vivos Christi Committee. She was a ballroom dancer, scuba diver, loved golf, and was an avid sailor of the Chesapeake Bay for 20 years.
She is survived by her husband, Francis Joseph Robacker of The Villages; a sister, Susan (James) Latham of The Villages; and five nephews and five nieces.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Dr. Edith Mary Robacker will be held on Friday, Oct. 4 at St. Timothy Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. with Father Ed Waters, celebrant.
Inurnment will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla. on Monday, Oct. 7.
