The DuBois Area track and field teams swept the Elk County Catholic squads in a meet held Tuesday afternoon at the ECCHS track and field complex.
The Lady Crusaders lost by a 96-54 score, while the Crusaders lost 114-56.
In the girls’ meet, Elk Catholic was led by triple winner Kennedy Weisner as she won the 800 run, 400 dash and was a member of the winning 3200 relay team.
Victoria Dippold was a double winner. She took the 3200 run and was a member of the winning 3200 relay team.
Single winners were Maggie Sorg in the 1600 run, Abbi Petrosky in the 300 hurdles, and Cassie Thompson and Julia Sweeney in the 3200 relay.
“We have made a lot of progress in the past week and I look for that to continue,” said ECCHS coach John Schneider. “We went up against very good DuBois teams today and while we may not have won a lot of events, we worked very hard and in the process improved and in some instances set personal records.”
“We’ll take what we have learned today and use it to move forward,” he added.
For the Crusaders, single winners were Jake Herbstritt in the high jump and Caleb Lecker in the 1600 run.
