Dutch golfers defeat Brockway 235-248

The St. Marys Flying Dutchmen golf squad picked up a win over visiting Brockway on Thursday afternoon at the Bavarian Hills Golf Course, defeating the Rovers 235 to 248.
"The team played really well today," said St. Marys coach Dan Vollmer following the match. "It was a much-needed win and we look forward to our home match against Ridgway and Kane next week."
Medalists for the day were St. Marys' Sam Miller and Brockway's Andy Genevro and Bret Corr, all of whom shot 11-over-par rounds of 46.
Behind Miller for St. Marys were Rudy Gleixner, Quinn Cunningham and Jacob Lechner with 47s, followed by Justin Beimel with a 48. Other Dutchmen scores were Owen Schreiber with a 50, Garrett Wendel 52, and Dillon Gallagher 53.
Behind Genevro and Corr for Brockway was Fabio Fortunado with a 48, followed by Sam Hawkins with a 51 and Alec Bouch with a 57. Other Brockway scores were Darren Olivio with a 57, Bryce Buesink with a 59 and Dean Davido with a 63.
St. Marys will return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 14 when they host both Ridgway and Kane for a tri-match, which is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m.
