Dutch golfers defeat Johnsonburg squad

The St. Marys Area Flying Dutch golf team opened their dual meet season Wednesday afternoon by hosting the Johnsonburg Rams at the Bavarian Hills Golf Course.
The Dutchmen defeated the Rams by a 239-247 score.
Johnsonburg’s Cameron Grumley was the medalist on the day with his 36.
For the Dutchmen, Quinn Cunningham and Kyle Pistner shared medalist honors with their 46s. Dillon Gallagher was next with a 47, followed by Owen Schreiber and Justin Beimel with 50s. Rudy Gleixner finished with a 56. Jordan Wehler had a 58 and Garrett Wendel a 59.
Behind Grumley for the Rams was CJ Herbstritt with a 44. Nathan Burgeson carded a 45, followed by Dave Sallack and Mason Walters with 61s. Quinn Luhr finished with an 86.
“I am very pleased with how Kyle, Quinn and Dillon handled the golf course today,” said St. Marys coach Dan Vollmer.
“We are now 1-0 and undefeated,” said Vollmer.
The Dutchmen return to action next Tuesday when they will host the Kane Wolves at the Bavarian Hills Golf Course at 3:30 p.m.
