Dutch tennis team blanks DuBois Central 9-0

The St. Marys Area Flying Dutch tennis team improved their record to 3-1 on the season with a 9-0 victory over the DuBois Central Cardinals Monday afternoon at the SMAHS courts.
At singles, Dutchman Nathan Hansen won his match 6-0, 6-2 over David Gangeware.
At second singles, Brandon Romain of the Dutch defeated Kevin Blakely 6-2, 6-0.
Keith Meyer of the Dutch defeated Jake Peek 6-0, 6-2 at third singles.
At fourth singles, Dylan Wiesner won his match easily over Jake Aravich 6-0, 6-0.
Thomas Murmann of SMA defeated Elliot LaParke 6-2, 6-0 at fifth singles.
“The boys played very well in a constant light drizzle of rain,” said Dutch coach Sue Lepovetsky.
At first doubles, Dylan Wiesner and Nathan Hansen of the Dutch defeated David Gangeware and Kevin Blakely 8-2.
At second doubles, Brandon Romain and Keith Meyer of St. Marys won their match 8-0 over Jake Peek and Elliot LaParke.
Dutchmen Michael Fox and Brandon Orr won their match 8-2 over Tom Boyer and Bill Edwards at third doubles.
At fourth doubles, Evan Lepovetsky and Michael Brennen won their match 8-0 over Jude Rapski and Zach Bauer.
“Everyone did a great job today despite the weather,” said Lepovetsky.
St. Marys returns to the road this afternoon when they travel to DuBois to take on the Beavers at 3:30 p.m.
