Dutch tennis team blanks DuBois Central 9-0

SMA travels to Punxsy today

The St. Marys Area Flying Dutch tennis team improved to 2-2 on the season with a 9-0 victory over the DuBois Central Catholic Cardinals Tuesday afternoon at the SMAHS courts.
At first singles, Dutchman Michael Fox defeated Elliott Laparne 6-2, 7-6 (7-2).
Dutchman Evan Lepovetsky defeated Tom Boyer 6-4, 6-4 at second singles.
At third singles, SMA’s Jarred Lipsey beat Jacob Aravich 6-0, 6-0.
At fourth singles, Gary Fledderman of the Dutch defeated Ben Trinkley 6-2, 6-4.
Eric Uhl of the Dutch defeated Julie Fitzer 6-4, 7-5 at fifth singles.
At first doubles, SMA’s Evan Lepovetsky and Michael Fox defeated Elliott Laparne and Tom Boyer 8-4.
At second doubles, Jarrod Lipsey and Dalton Gennocro of the Dutch downed Jacob Aravich and Ben Trinkley 8-2.
At third doubles, Gary Fledderman and D.J. Challingsworth defeated Alex Huckenstein and Alexandra McKillop 8-0.
At fourth doubles, DuBois Central had to forfeit due to the lack of players.
“We played well in both singles and doubles today,” said St. Marys coach Sue Lepovetsky.
The Dutch are in action this afternoon as they travel to Punxsutawney for a 3:30 p.m. match with the Chucks.
