Earl E. Jacobs

Earl E. Jacobs, 77, of 407 Cobb St., Johnsonburg, died on Monday, March 12, 2012 at Elk Regional Health Center following a short illness.
He was born on Sept. 1, 1934 in Johnsonburg, son of Harold and Katherine Stager Jacobs.
On Oct. 28, 1961 in Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg, he married Dorothy Dworsky. She died Feb. 4, 1986.
He resided in Johnsonburg his entire life and was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School, Class of 1952.
Mr. Jacobs was a member of the Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg American Legion Post 501 and Wilcox Sportsmen's Club.
He was a Korean Era veteran serving overseas as a Staff Sergeant with the 3327th Bomb Squadron of the U.S. Air Force.
He had worked for several years at Penntech Papers, several years with UPS as well as for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board at stores in St. Marys, Ridgway and Johnsonburg, and then worked again for Penntech Papers for 10 years, retiring in 1980.
He is survived by one daughter, Barbara, Mrs. John Jordan of Ridgway, and two sons, Brian Jacobs and his wife Roxanne of St. Marys and Mark Jacobs and his wife Rachael of Ft. Myers, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Ashley and Ryan Jacobs, Kendall and Kyle Jordan, and Sydney, Olivia and Jillian Jacobs; two brothers, Richard Jacobs and his wife Pat of Johnsonburg, and William "Bill" Jacobs and his wife Mary of Ridgway.
Mr. Jacobs was predeceased by his parents and wife.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Earl E. Jacobs will be conducted at Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg on Friday, March 16, 2012 at 10 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor. Interment will be at the Holy Rosary Cemetery in Johnsonburg.
Friends will be received at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg, on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. Military honors will be accorded by the Johnsonburg-Wilcox Servicemen's Burial Detail. Detail members are asked to assemble at the funeral home on Friday at 9:15 a.m.
