Early education focus of Kid's Day

April 4, 2014

Photo submitted Shown is just one of the many booths where parents could obtain information about early education during last year's inaugural Kid's Day.

Parents of children age birth to kindergarten are invited to attend the Second Annual Kid's Day on Saturday, April 5 from 9 a.m. to noon at the St. Marys Boys and Girls Club.
As part of the circus-themed event families have the opportunity to learn about different agencies that serve children ages birth to kindergarten.
"We are very fortunate as a community to have all these resources that assist in helping children succeed throughout their early years. The first 2,000 days of a child’s life is critical for success in school and life," said Lynn Floravit, event coordinator and volunteer LEARN (Local Education and Resource Network) coordinator for Elk and Cameron counties.
The event is sponsored through the local LEARN team, Dickinson Center, Inc. Children’s Prevention Services and The Early Learning Team.
