ECC's Elliott Struble qualifies for second round of D9 golf championships

File photo Elk Catholic's Elliott Struble qualified for the second round of the District 9-AA boys' golf championship by finishing Monday's play with a 76, good for second place.

The District 9 Boys' Golf Championship was held Monday at The Pennhills Club in Bradford. The second round will be played Saturday at Pennhills to determine the top eight Class AA golfers and the top two Class AAA golfers who will advance to the West Individual Regional scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 16 at Tom's Run Golf Course at Chestnut Ridge Golf Resort in Blairsville.
The 15 AA golfers qualifying for Saturday are Brett Gardner of Curwensville who finished with a 74, Elliott Struble of Elk Catholic who finished with a 76, Jack Huggins of Brookville 77, Paul Etchepare of Cameron County 77, Jake Klawuhn of Ridgway 77, Kade Logue of Cameron County 78, Nathan Burgeson of Johnsonburg 78, T.J. Schlimm of Ridgway 78, Cameron Grumley of Johnsonburg 79, Jason Thorp of Curwensville 80, Josh Roselli of Ridgway 78, Jared Bish of Clarion 81, Mitchell Gilmore of Ridgway 82, Cameron Kockler of Coudersport 83 and Cameron Hoover of Cranberry 83.
