Friday marks the sixth annual Elk County Catholic School System Heritage Gala Benefit Dinner, which raises significant funds for the general operations of the three local Catholic schools.
Last year's event raised more than $100,000 including donations to the gala, business sponsor contributions and contributions to the newly established Monsignor John B. Hagerty Scholarship Fund.
Among the highlights of the gala are the Heritage Awards being presented to Harold and Marguerite "Midge" Lenze for their significant leadership contributions to the schools over the years and Mary Agnes Marshall, former middle school principal, for her 50 years of dedication and service to our Catholic schools in St. Marys.
