Recently, Elk County Catholic School System was the recipient of a grant in the amount of $150,000 from the A.J. and Sigismunda Palumbo Charitable Trust. The funds will benefit two aspects of the school system; $100,000 has been designated for the funding of all advanced placement and dual enrollment courses at the high school level while the remaining $50,000 will be set aside for scholarship funding and tuition assistance.
When A.J. Palumbo established his trust, he delineated five categories of prominent importance to help guide the trustees in their determination of which applicants should receive funding. One of those categories of importance was Catholic education.
