Edith A. Olson

Edith A. Olson, 91, of 645 Evergreen Rd., St. Marys, died on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010, at the Pinecrest Manor following a lengthy illness.She was born Sept. 28, 1919, in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Lewis Percy and Mary Elizabeth Gardner Weber.On Nov. 19, 1982, in the Queen of the World Church, she married Robert J. Olson, who survives.She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School, Class of 1937. She had been employed as a secretary for Airco Carbon for 20 years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of the Shiloh Presbyterian Church, was initiated into the Order of the Easter Star on Oct. 7, 1947, and served as Worthy Matron and past Matron; and initiated into the White Shrine on Nov. 13, 1954, and served as Worthy High Priestees and past Worthy High Priestess.Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Nancy Lander and her husband, Richard, of Fort Worth, TX; two stepdaughters, Mary Ellen Shivetts and her husband, Jeff, of Pittsburgh and Kathy Wonderly and her husband, Jim, of Weedville; a stepson, Michael Olson of Boardman, Ohio; six grandchildren, Kevin Lander, Lauren Shivetts, Kyle Shivetts, Lenora Shoemaker, Jim Wonderly and Andy Wonderly; six great-grandchildren, Miranda Shoemaker, Sara Shoemaker, Rachel Wonderly, Brandy Wonderly, Troy Wonderly and Thomas Wonderly; and by many nieces and nephews.Besides her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by six sisters, Margarette Granlund, Betty Jean Koza, Maybelle Mann, Jacquelyn Weber, Eleanor Weber, and Gwendolyn Weber; and four brothers, Russell Weber, Grant Weber, Lyle Weber and David Weber. She was the last member of her immediate family.Funeral services for Edith A. Olson will be held in the Shiloh Presbyterian Church on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Scott Wiest, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
