Editorials offer local perspective on Kennedy assassination

November 22, 2013

"It will be a long time before the saddened implication of [President John F.] Kennedy's death will be forgotten in the land of his birth." These words formed the conclusion of an editorial titled 'All America Mourns' that appeared in The Daily Press on Saturday, Nov. 23, 1963, the day after Kennedy's assassination, and was penned by Daily Press editor H. T. "Jack" O'Brien.
In addition to Saturday's editorial, O'Brien also authored several others related to Kennedy that appeared in the paper in the days both leading up to and following his death.
