Edward C. "Charlie" Krise, 74, of 72 Erie Ave., St. Marys and formerly of 1200 Million Dollar Highway, Kersey, died on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at UPMC Monteï¬ore Hospital in Pittsburgh following a brief illness.
He was born June 26, 1936 in Ridgway, a son of the late Oden and Christine Bellotti Krise.
Mr. Krise was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of St. Boniface Church.Â He served in the U.S. Army from 1955-1963.Â He worked as a die setter at Keystone Carbon Company and retired after more than 30 years of service.Â He was a member of the P.F.L., the Moose and the American Legion.Â He enjoyed cooking, canning and gardening.Â He also enjoyed hunting and ï¬shing.
He is survived by four sons, Steven Krise and his wife Beth of St. Marys, Rick Krise of Kersey, Scott Krise and his wife Natalie of DuBois, and Jeff Krise and his wife Joanna of Lawrence, Kan.; one daughter, Christine Krise of Bedford; 10 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Dorothy, Mrs. Michael Schneider of Daguscahonda, and Helen Prechtl, also of Daguscahonda; one brother, Thomas Krise and his wife Joan of Kersey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Herman, William, Clair "Bill," Calvin "Joe," John and Richard Krise.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Edward C. "Charlie" Krise will be celebrated at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Main Street, Kersey, on Saturday, March 26 at 12 p.m. Burial will be in the St. Boniface Cemetery.
Full military honors will be conducted by the Fox Township Burial Detail.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., St. Marys, on Friday evening from 5-8 p.m.
