Edwin L. Gray

Edwin L. Gray, 91, of Apple Street, Weedville, died Monday, June 16, 2014 at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born March 26, 1923 in Clarington, son of the late Roy L. and Rose (Swaney) Gray.
On Aug. 12, 1951, he married Beverly J. (Wonderling) Gray; she survives.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1948-1949. He was a die setter for Keystone Carbon for 43 years having retired in 1988. He was a member of the American Legion Post #948 in Weedville for 50 years. He lived all his life in Bennetts Valley.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Deborah (Craig) Piurkoski of Ridgway, Diane (Bernie) Kalinoski of Weedville, and Rhonda Gray of St. Marys; one brother, Ray Gray of Uniontown; three grandchildren, Steven Piurkoski, Dawn Smith, and Nicole Rhoads; and five great-grandchildren, Justice, Mecca, Nayvada, Joben, and Xander.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ketorah Strouse and Flo Schaberl; and two brothers, Walter Gray and a brother in infancy.
A funeral service for Edwin L. Gray will be held Thursday, June 19 at 11 a.m. at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home, 12045 Bennetts Valley Hwy., Penfield, with Pastor Luther Nelson Jr. officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Bennetts Valley Legion Post 978 Burial Detail. Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation was Wednesday, June 18 from 2-6 p.m. and Thursday, June 19 from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
