Evelyn Mae "Beano" Imbrogno, age 85, of 70 Faries St., Wilcox, and formerly of Johnsonburg, died Friday morning, Feb. 25, 2011 at her residence.
She was born May 6, 1925, in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Herman W. and Mary Ellen McGonigal Nelson. On April 23, 1950, she married Peter A. Imbrogno in the Holy Rosary Rectory, Johnsonburg; he died on Jan. 4, 1989.
She resided in Wilcox since 1990 and had resided in Johnsonburg most of her life.
A 1944 graduate of Johnsonburg High School, she was a member of Holy Rosary Church and loved crafts, especially knitting, crocheting and painting ceramics. She had worked briefly at Sylvania Corp. and New York and Pennsylvania Co., but loved homemaking and being a wife and mother.
She is survived by four sons, Michael E. Imbrogno and his wife Christine of Wilcox, Steven A. Imbrogno of Wilcox, Peter G. Imbrogno and his wife Leslie of Treasure Lake, and Edward A. Imbrogno and his wife Amy of West Lake Village, Calif.; two daughters, Mary Ann Asti of Johnsonburg and Judith M., Mrs. Mark Colson of Spotsylvania, Va.; 17 grandchildren; and one sister, Donna, Mrs. George Ritter of Wetmore.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by three brothers, George, Darlington and Herman Nelson; and four sisters, June Frank, Joyce Dietz, Beverly Nelson and Mildred Dougherty.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Evelyn Mae "Beano" Imbrogno will be conducted at Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg Wednesday, March 2 at 10 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg.
Friends will be received at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg, on Tuesday, March 1 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
