Farmers market opens for season tomorrow
Area residents can shop for fresh, local foods from summer to fall at the St. Marys Farmers Market, set to open for the season tomorrow. The market will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. every Saturday from June 30 until Oct. 20 in the parking lot of the Franklin Center in downtown St. Marys. Market Manager Marty Riddle said many items are available. "We have in-season vegetables and fruits, baked goods. We also have meats, smoked cheeses, jellies, jams," Riddle said. "They [patrons] can get fresh produce, homemade baked goods and they help support local farmers and the area people."
