The voters have spoken. The 2014 St. Marys Independence Day Celebration will be held at The Leaning Pines/The Highlands area, formerly the Country Club, on Thursday, July 3.
After a voting initiative created by the St. Marys Area Chamber of Commerce, which sponsors the event, area residents had the opportunity to cast their votes in an online survey or through a fundraising endeavor by choosing their favorite site via donation containers located at area businesses.
"We appreciate everyone's input and participation," said Ashley O'Dell, Chamber outreach coordinator.
Overall The Leaning Pines received 63 percent of the votes while the St. Marys Municipal Airport received 37 percent of votes.
