Florence L. Steis, 88, of Miamisburg, Ohio, died Friday, March 4, 2011 at her residence under the care of Hospice of Dayton.
She was born Sept. 12, 1922 in Brandy Camp, the daughter of Gelindo and Julia Castina Benigni.
She was a former resident of Brandy Camp and Coraopolis.
She is survived by her daughter, Geralyn J. (David) McCloskey of Miamisburg, Ohio; granddaughter, Alison (Khris) Ballard of Bellbrook, Ohio; great-grandson, Vincent; nieces, Rita Ann (Tom) Miller of Ocala, Fla., Pamela (Thomas) Pauline of Kersey, Sharen (Robert) Marshall of Kersey, Maureen (Anthony) Viglione of DuBois, Deborah (Michael) Dillon of Altoona, and by her dearest Bonnie (Ed) Swaney of Miamisburg, Ohio.
She was predeceased by her parents, her first husband, John Bianchi; three brothers, Gelindo, Glenn and infant Glen; and by her second husband, Glenn W. Steis.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Florence Steis will be celebrated at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Brandy Camp on Thursday, March 10 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Msgr. Charles Kaza. Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
There will be no visitation.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420; or to Marianist Missions, 119 Franklin, Dayton, OH 45402.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Meehan-Shilk Funeral Home, Inc.
