The St. Marys Area Flying Dutchmen snapped a two game losing streak as they defeated the Johnsonburg Area High Rams by 46-34 score in the consolation game of the Elk County Boys' Holiday Basketball Tournament held at the "Dutch Oven".
"I felt we rebounded well from last night's (Wednesday) loss to Elk Catholic," said Mark Guido, St. Marys Area Head Coach. "We played with composure, especially during the final period."
"Justin Quiggle played his best game of the season since returning from his football injury," added the coach. "Bobby Vollmer turned in a great defensive effort tonight as he did an excellent job on Louie Imbrogno."
"Overall I was very pleased with the way we played tonight and this win should give us some confidence as we enter the league season," said Guido.
Justin Quiggle led the Dutchmen in scoring on Thursday with 16 points on five field goals and two treys. He also led the team with 10 rebounds.
