Former Kane resident faces child pornography charge

July 19, 2011

OHIO - A former Kane resident has been charged in Ohio with “pandering” child pornography on his home computer.
Andrew Grisham, 22, was placed in the Summit County, Ohio jail in lieu of $75,000 bond on the felony charge, according to a spokesman for the Stowe, Ohio Municipal Court.
The spokesman said Grisham faces a preliminary hearing Thursday before Judge Lisa Coates in the Stowe court. The spokesman said Akron, Ohio attorney Roger K. Davidson represents Grisham.
The Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio Police Department arrested Grisham last Friday at his home in the Ohio town, which is near Cleveland and Akron.
According to sources familiar with the arrest, detectives obtained a warrant to search Grisham’s residence. Sources said police seized several computers and electronic recording devices.
A spokesman for the police department said the criminal complaint shows that Grisham is accused of “downloading pictures and videos of known child pornography and sharing the items and images with computer users.”
The actual charge is called “pandering obscenities.” But a police department spokesman confirmed that the downloaded material is “child pornography.”
