Fox supervisors address tax, seismic testing

February 10, 2012

The Fox Township Supervisors approved a motion to adopt a resolution to allow the township to collect their portion of the Occupational Privilege Tax. Currently all of the tax goes directly to the St. Marys Area School District.
"We're allowed to collect this tax," said Supervisor Mike Keller.
The township has until May to put it in their books for collection next year. This also requires a three week advertising period.
In addition Elexco Land Services will be conducting seismic testing throughout the township.
The company wants to bond all township roads to conduct the testing.
The supervisors denied the company a request to conduct such sampling testing on a tax parcel owned by the township. This specific parcel contains the stormwater ponds for the Centerville development.
