Frances L. Olewinski

Frances L. Olewinski, 83 of 724 Marvin St., Wilcox, formerly of Johnsonburg died Thursday, July 18, 2013 afternoon at her residence following a brief illness.
She was born on March 30, 1930 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Bronislaw and Josephine Kolinoski Piurkoksi.
She married Henry A. Olewsinski on August 15, 1950 in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg. He died October 17, 2008.
She resided in Wilcox most of her life.
Mrs. Olewinski was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School in 1948.
She belonged to St. Anne's Church in Wilcox where she taught CCD classes, was an avid reader, a volunteer at the Wilcox Public Library and helped with Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts.
She was employed by Sylvania, Inc. of Emporium.
Mrs. Olewinski is survived by a daughter Christine, Mrs. James Dietrick of Wilcox,
two sons, Kevin Olewinski and his partner Darlene Bizzak of Kane, David Olewinski and his partner Betty Mosberg of Kane; six grandchildren April Dietrick, Jeremy Dietrick and his wife Amanda, Adam Dietrick and his wife Jessica, Kevin Olewinski, William Olewinski and his wife Alicia and Nicole Olewinski; six great-grandchildren Zachary and Alayna Dietrick, Connor and Bionca Olewinski and Isaac and Sophia Olewinski; a brother Philip Piurkoski and his wife Barbara of Penfield, N.Y.; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband, brother Leon Piurkoski, sisters Eva Metelski, Helen Linder and Jeanne in infancy.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Frances L. Olewinski will be conducted at Holy Rosary Church, in Johnsonburg on Monday July 22, 2013 at 10 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor.
Interment will be at the Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Ridgway.
Friends will be received at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St. in Johnsonburg on Sunday, July 21 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
