Frances V. Green

Frances V. Green, 73, of Kersey, died on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh following a brief illness.
She was born Jan. 20, 1939 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Louis and Catherine Keller Hoffman.
On Sept. 10, 1960, she married Darrel C. Green, who survives.
Mrs. Green was a member of Sacred Heart Church. She graduated from Central High School, Class of 1957. She retired from St. Marys Carbon after more than 46 years of service. She was very active and enjoyed volunteering with the Sacred Heart Social Committee and the Christian Food Bank. She was also a volunteer at the gift shop at Elk Regional Health Center. She enjoyed traveling, quilting and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband of more than 52 years, Darrel C. Green, she is survived by three brothers, Melvin Hoffman of Kersey, Louis Hoffman and his wife Geraldine of Kersey, and Gerard Hoffman and his wife Odelia of Kersey; seven sisters, Margaret Schatz of Kersey, Mary Ann Hauber of Willabee, Ohio, Audrey, Mrs. Patsy Assalone of Kersey, Jean, Mrs. Don Schreiber of St. Marys, Esther, Mrs. David Brown of St. Marys, Rita, Mrs. Thomas Miller of Brockport, and Helen, Mrs. Bill Cristoff of Brockway; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathleen D'Amore and Veronica Schneider.
Relatives and friends of Frances V. Green are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 325 Center St., St. Marys, on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012 at noon, with the Rev. Eric Vogt, O.S.B., as celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
