Francis “Chip” McClure

Francis “Chip” McClure, 87, of Penfield, died Monday, June 17, 2013 at the Holy Spirit Hospital of Camp Hill.
He was born November 30, 1925 in Orviston, son of the late Clair Charles and Mabel (Beers) McClure.
He married Gladys (Woodward) McClure and she preceded him in death on July 30, 1996.
Raised in West Decatur, he lived 30 years in Derrick City, 25 years in Penfield, and the past two years in Mechanicsburg.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1944 to 1946, including in Northern France. He was a school teacher for 35 years with the Bradford School District at the School Street Junior High School.
He was a past active member of the First United Presbyterian Church of DuBois, where he had served as a Deacon, Moshannon Lodge 391 Free and Accepted Masons and the Williamsport Consistory Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, the Pa. Wildlife Habitat Unlimited, and life member of the Derrick City Volunteer Fire Company.
He is survived by a son, David McClure of Enola; two grandchildren, Keith McClure and Melissa McClure and her fiancé Robert Laughman; a sister, Marie Henderson of Philipsburg; his companion, Anna Marie Belasquez of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers, James, Raymond, Ronald, and Leland McClure.
Funeral Services for Francis “Chip” McClure  will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 21 at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home in Penfield with Lamarr Adamson officiating.
Interment will be in Morningside Cemetery in DuBois.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 20 from 5-7 p.m. and Friday, June 21 from 10-11 a.m. at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home in Penfield.
The family suggests memorials to the First United Presbyterian Church, 43 West Scribner Ave., DuBois, PA 15801.
