Francis J. "Brownie" Braun

Francis J. "Brownie" Braun, 88, of 122 Wendel Rd., St. Marys, died on Friday, April 29, 2011 at Pinecrest Manor.
He was born Mar 19, 1923 in St. Marys, a son of the late John  and Cecila Feldbauer Braun. On July 2, 1945 in St. Mary's Church, he married the late Matilda "Tillie" Wendel Braun.
Mr. Braun was retired from Stackpole after working there for over 44 years. He was also a member of the Quarter Century Club of Stackpole. In the course of his lifetime, he donated 20 gallons of blood. 
Mr. Braun was a car buff and commonly referred to past historical events by which car he had owned at the time.  He enjoyed visiting people who were hospitalized and entertained them with comedy and candy. He also enjoyed passing out his homemade Jesus plaques. 
He is survived by two sons, Bunny Braun and his wife Mary of St. Marys, and Tom Braun and his fiance Kimberly of St. Marys; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mildred Haberberger of St. Marys and Mary Christian of California.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Agnes Braun and Clara Smith; and by five brothers, Gilbert Braun, Ambrose Braun, Marinus Braun, Joseph Braun, and Leo Braun.  
A Mass of Christian Burial for Francis J. "Brownie" Braun will be celebrated at the Queen Of The World Church, 134 Queens Rd., St. Marys, on Wednesday, May 4 at noon, with the Rev. Eric Vogt OSB as celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
