Frank H. Bryan, 78, of the Highland View Health Care, Brockway, died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010 at his residence.
He was born Jan. 26, 1932 in St. Marys, the son of George and Ana Filipovic Bryan. He married Elizabeth Moyer on Oct. 10, 1960, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 10, 2010.
He graduated from Fox Township High School in 1951 and enlisted in the United States Army. A Sergeant First Class, he was stationed in Germany and Arlington, Va., and stood guard in Dwight Eisenhower’s first inaugural parade. He also served as an assistant purser and a storekeeper in the Military Sealift Command. For many years, he was self-employed as a contractor by Sylvania in St. Marys.
He is survived by a daughter, Carolyn J. Bryan of Statesboro, Ga.; two sisters-in-law, Eleanor (Peter) of Camp Hill and Josephine (George) of Evans, Ga.; and by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers John, Anthony, George, and Peter, and sisters Mary, Ann, Mildred, and Margaret.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Frank H. Bryan will be celebrated on Saturday, Oct. 30, at 10 a.m. at St. Tobias Catholic Church in Brockway.
Burial will follow in Morningside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Highland View Health Care.
Arrangements are under the direction of Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway.
