Gary H. Beimel, 62, of 146 Terrace Road, St. Marys, died on Saturday, August 31, 2013 following injuries sustained in an automobile accident in McKean County.
He was born August 7, 1951 in St. Marys, a son of the late Frank X. and Lyra Meier Beimel.
On June 9, 1979 in Queen of the World Church, he married the late Elaine Cuneo Beimel, his wife of more than 34 years.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of St. Mary's Church.Â He attended St. Marys Parochial School and graduated from SMAHS, Class of 1969.Â He had been employed at Metaldyne in St. Marys for more than 26 years.Â He enjoyed ï¬shing, hunting, and gardening.Â He was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan.Â Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with his beloved wife, Elaine.
He is survived by a daughter, Krista, Mrs. Jere Trostle of St. Marys; a son, Jeffrey Beimel and his wife Suzy of St. Marys; four brothers, Robert Beimel and his wife Bonnie of St. Marys, Steve Beimel and his wife Beth of Ridgway, Frank X. Beimel and his wife Laurie of St. Marys, and Michael Beimel and his wife Jennifer of St. Marys; four sisters, Mary "Ginger", Mrs. Charles "Jake" Himes of Kersey, Sandy, Mrs. Kenneth Wilson of St. Marys, Elizabeth "Beth Ann', Mrs. Jeff Faulk of Brockway, and Rebecca, wife of Dr. Tom Lakata of Fogelsville; brother- and sister-in-law, Ronald and Catherine Cuneo of St. Marys; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and was joined in death by his wife, Elaine Cuneo Beimel; his brother-in-law, David Cuneo; and his aunt-in-law, Florence Donachy.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Gary H. Beimel will be celebrated at the Elk County Catholic High School, 600 Maurus Street, St. Marys, on Saturday, September 7, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Thomas More Sikora, O.S.B., Pastor of St. Mary's Church and the Rev. Richard Allen, Pastor of Queen of the World, concelebrants.
Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Elk County Catholic High School, 600 Maurus Street, St. Marys, on Friday evening from 6-9 p.m.
